  I would download Filezilla and use that. Linux will not be the problem, but your browser might be.

		<description>It&#039;s not a server configuration error.  It depends which browser people are using to connect to the server.

go to ftp://serverip from firefox and it will look and act completely different than going to the same ftp://serverip from internet explorer.  IE opens a window similar to windows explorer where files can be dragged and dropped in.  Firefox will not.  The best thing for people to use is an actual ftp client.
